EMPRESS MEDIA ASSET MANAGEMENT JOINS ACTIVE ARCHIVE ALLIANCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EMPRESS MEDIA ASSET MANAGEMENT JOINS ACTIVE ARCHIVE ALLIANCE

New York, NY-October 8, 2014 Empress Media Asset Management, LLC announced today that it has joined the Active Archive Alliance -- a collaborative industry association formed to educate end user organizations on the evolving new technologies that enable reliable, online and efficient access to their archived data.

Organizations are archiving increasing amounts of data as they grapple with data growth, retention, compliance rules and the need to leverage the knowledge and information within their organization. As organizations archive more data, the challenge of accessing that data when needed has intensified.  Active archive solutions resolve this issue by turning offline archives into visible, accessible extensions of online storage systems – enabling fast, easy access to all data.

According to COO David Miller, “Empress is very excited to join with the other data storage industry members of this organization to promote active archive. Our goal has always been to provide quick and easy access to vast amounts of video and other content in different systems and different locations.”

An active archive is a method of tiered storage which gives a user access to data across virtualized file systems. To achieve ubiquitous accessibility and lower TCO, information is seamlessly migrated   between multiple storage systems and media types including solid-state drives, hard disk drives, cloud, tape technology, and optical disk. Active archives are ideal for companies that regularly manage high-volume digital assets or face exponential data growth, as it provides a cost-effective way to store large amounts of data with high reliability and accessibility.

The eMAM™ system from Empress Media Asset Management is a full featured media asset management system designed to organize, tag, search, collaborate, approve, distribute, and archive digital content. With flexible deployment options, scalability, and universal accessibility, the eMAM system provides complete integrated workflows to meet the needs of its diverse customers.

“We are pleased to have Empress Media Asset Management join the Alliance in our effort to provide IT administrators with information and solutions for active archive strategies. We’ve seen great interest and growth for active archives particularly in the media and entertainment industry, so the addition of Empress Media Asset Management is a perfect complement to our existing member base. We continue to bring together best-of-breed technologies that empower organizations to meet their data archiving needs,” says Alliance board member, Peter Faulhaber of Fujifilm.

The mission of the Active Archive Alliance is to align the education and technologies needed to meet the rapidly evolving requirements for data archive. Please visit www.activearchive.com for more information about the Active Archive Alliance and to become a member.

eMAM extends the reach of Adobe Anywhere to non-editors with support for ingest and archive.

Empress is showcasing the integrated solution at NAB 2014

New York, NY-April 7, 2014 - Empress  Media Asset Management, LLC, a media asset management and workflow management solutions company, will be showcasing the integration of its flagship eMAM™ system with Adobe® Anywhere for video at the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 7-10 at Booth SL12710.

Anywhere is a revolutionary system for simultaneous collaboration among editors and creative professionals worldwide using native resolution content over standard internet connections through Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Prelude CC, and After Effects CC systems.   The Adobe Collaboration Hub synchronizes shared productions from a high-performance centralized storage, while the Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine provides dynamically adjusted streams of the shared productions, allowing use of the familiar Creative Cloud tools from any location.

eMAM is a web-accessible system that can manage ingest into the centralized storage.   With full media asset management features, eMAM can repurpose content in other storage systems or locations, in the cloud, or offline for a current production.   It can also directly manage the archive process for completed productions, freeing up costlier central storage, and permanently securing them in an accessible, more cost-effective archive for later reuse.

eMAM has an intuitive graphical interface, so non-editors can create Anywhere productions or collaborate in the process, including email based review and approvals.   "We are excited to extend our Adobe Premiere Pro CC integration to support Anywhere collaborative editing worldwide involving creative editors and non-editors alike in order to integrate dispersed storage, workflows, and people," said David Miller, Empress COO.

Empress partners with 1 Beyond to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective archive solution.

Empress Media Asset Management
New York, N.Y.--February 13, 2014

Empress partners with 1 Beyond to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective archive solution.

Empress Media Asset Management, LLC www.empressmam.com (Empress), a digital asset management and workflow management solutions company, and 1 Beyond, Inc. www.1Beyond.com, a manufacturer of purpose-built professional video systems, have announced a partnership to deliver a comprehensive and cost-effective archive solution for organizations to archive and manage video libraries using LTO technology

The combined solution at a favorable price point includes:
  •  eMAM™, from Empress Media Asset Management , offering a complete media asset management system with web-based proxy search, preview, and collaboration tools, combined with the ability to move and manage the digital files in the storage and archive.
  • 1 Beyond EzStor™, a complete LTO library archive system, addressing the problems of complexity and cost and offering a scalable 24, 48, or 96-slot LTO LTFS robotic archive with intermediate NAS storage for instant file access.

One of the world’s largest media companies has now installed the combined solution to manage internal content up to 4K.

LTO archive systems are becoming increasingly attractive as a storage option for rich content, especially video, because of the low cost of archive storage, the long term data security of the LTO tape, and the ease of use and universality of LTFS (Linear Tape File System).  With eMAM, users can rapidly access and restore archived content from a simple web interface. eMAM moves content between different storage and archive locations directly from the web interface. The 1 Beyond EzStor is a combined software and hardware solution that manages the movement of the content onto LTO tapes and the movement of the tapes of the library. Large quantities of data can be stored in the EzStor library without the purchase of archive software middleware, traditionally a major expense of archive systems.

The combined solution will be showcased at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in April.
“We are very excited to market this combined solution so we can offer a powerful and scalable archive management system at a low cost, especially at a time when many organizations are seeing their budgets shrink,” said Empress COO David Miller.

Terry Cullen, CEO and Founder of 1 Beyond adds, “The partnership with Empress has combined the eMAM and the EzStor products into one powerful unified system, which makes asset management and archiving for the user an easy, quick, and efficient process in a production or corporate setting.”
