professional video systems, have announced a partnership to deliver a
comprehensive and cost-effective archive solution for organizations to archive
and manage video libraries using LTO technology
The combined solution at a favorable price point includes:
- eMAM™, from Empress Media Asset Management , offering a complete media asset management system with web-based proxy search, preview, and collaboration tools, combined with the ability to move and manage the digital files in the storage and archive.
- 1 Beyond EzStor™, a complete LTO library archive system, addressing the problems of complexity and cost and offering a scalable 24, 48, or 96-slot LTO LTFS robotic archive with intermediate NAS storage for instant file access.
One of the world’s largest media companies
has now installed the combined solution to manage internal content up to 4K.
LTO archive systems are becoming increasingly attractive as
a storage option for rich content, especially video, because of the low cost of
archive storage, the long term data security of the LTO tape, and the ease of
use and universality of LTFS (Linear Tape File System). With eMAM, users can rapidly access and
restore archived content from a simple web interface. eMAM moves content
between different storage and archive locations directly from the web
interface. The 1 Beyond EzStor is a combined software and hardware solution
that manages the movement of the content onto LTO tapes and the movement of the
tapes of the library. Large quantities of data can be stored in the EzStor library
without the purchase of archive software middleware, traditionally a major
expense of archive systems.
The combined solution will be showcased at the National
Association of Broadcasters Show in April.
